The gallbladder is a small-sized, pear-shaped organ, present in the upper right side of the abdomen. It stores digestive fluid bile which helps in the digestion of fats. When fatty deposits of bile accumulates and get crystallized, then it leads to the formation of gallstones. These gallstones cause inflammation in the gallbladder and affect normal functioning of the organ. When you visit the doctor with gallstones signs and symptoms, they conduct abdominal ultrasound and other laboratory tests to confirm the size and number of gallstones. If the condition is not severe, then doctors prescribe oral medicines for the purpose of dissolving the gallstones. CDCA (chenodeoxycholic acid) or UDCA (ursodeoxycholic acid) are widely used for treatment. These medicines should be continued for several months or years before the gallstones dissolve out. Recently, a new technique has developed where gallstone medicines are directly injected into the gallbladder for more effective results. When the symptoms are serious, doctors recommend surgery for gallbladder removal. This surgical procedure is known as cholecystectomy. After its removal, the bile produced in the liver is directly secreted into the small intestine. One can lead a normal life after gallbladder surgery, but there are some side effects too. The patients are prone to diarrhea, jaundice and other such digestive problems. For this reason, more and more people look for gallstones treatment without surgery.

Gallstones Treatment at Home

When you have gallstones, but they do not cause any major problem for you, then it can be treated by natural means. There are some natural treatment methods that you can try out at home itself. A few of them are given below.

Remedy #1
You have to maintain a proper gallstones diet. Select some high fiber foods like a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. Healthy unsaturated fats like fish, nuts, vegetable oil, cottage cheese, yogurt are good for gallbladder. Eat apples and citrus fruits as they contain a component named pectin that can fight off this gallbladder problem really well.

Remedy #2
The diet should be accompanied by intake of nutritional supplements. Research studies have found deficiency of vitamins C, E and calcium often aggravate the gallstone problem. Therefore, you should take these supplements to prevent that. However, ask your doctor about the dosage before using them.

Remedy #3
Take about 30 ml of olive oil in empty stomach. Soon after that, take 3-4 tablespoons of lemon juice or 120 mil of grapefruit juice. This is an excellent gallstones home remedy. The olive oil that reaches the gallbladder will lubricate it and the gallstone will be flushed out through the stool. You have to continue this treatment every morning for at least a week for best results.

Remedy #4
Another natural gallstone treatment involves the use of apple cider vinegar. Dilute 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and have it two times in a day. The malic acid component of the apple cider vinegar can purge the gallstones.

Remedy #5
If you are looking for some herbal remedy to get relief from gallstones, then you can use a herb named Quebra Pedra. Prepare a tea by boiling 2 teaspoons of the herb in 500 ml of water. Have this tea daily for one or two months for the desired results.

In order to obtain best results from the non-surgical gallstones treatment, you have to lead a healthy lifestyle. Avoid unhealthy fats, sugary foods and processed foods altogether. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily to flush out toxins from the body. Keep yourself fit by exercising regularly.
