The doctor will prescribe medications like antihistamines for grass allergy treatment. Secondly, he may also prescribe medications like eye drops to treat itchiness and constant watering in the eyes. On the other hand, emollients, lotions and ointments also help in treating skin rash like symptoms of grass allergy. In most of the cases, the condition can be successfully treated by these treatment methods. However, sometimes, if the person is older in age or is suffering from asthma, he may experience severe symptoms. In that case, an emergency treatment is essential. Also, severe breathing difficulties should also be treated as an emergency.
Along with these treatment methods, one also needs to follow preventive methods to avoid allergies from recurring. Firstly, one should completely avoid contact with grass, specially in the spring or summer time. Secondly, mowing the lawn should be stopped if you suffer from pollen or grass allergy. It is also advisable to keep the house properly ventilated during the day to prevent triggering of the pollen allergy. On the other hand, one should also note that pets can be carriers of pollen and hence, it is essential to keep the pets clean and hygienic.
