Internet Search Engines List

In the Internet search engines list, Google and Bing are undoubtedly the topmost ones. In this article, we have just mentioned a few good search engines...
Search engines are websites which enable users to search what they want from millions of web pages around the world. Internet search engines function on a particular pattern of keyword for performing the search on World Wide Web (WWW). They even work according to the field of search, country, type of information, and other specifications. Today, these Internet searching tools have been incorporated with a wide range of features such as quick search, previews, direct access, etc.

Internet search engines function as per many factors such as the country from which the data is to be retrieved, the field and type of data such as business, law, real estate, education, health care, lifestyle, entertainment, etc. There are even search engines for finding multimedia data, maps, cost estimates and pricing, torrents, etc. Websites dedicated to these particular fields perform search in their own categories for data.

Popular Internet Search Engines List

Google
Google search engine is no doubt the best search engine used by majority of people around the world. The best thing about this website is that it has a very clear and simple interface, without advertisements and other icons and designs. This widely used web utility is also considered to be the fastest. Besides, it keeps on updating its logo on any special occasion such as a festival, a birthday of a renowned personality, or simply a day of invention. It is the first website to offer instant search to users, which is referred to as Google Instant. This unique feature includes displaying results as you type.

Bing
Bing is owned by Microsoft Corporation, and is considered the closest competitor to Google. It was made available to Internet users on June 3, 2009. To make the competition tougher, Microsoft entered into a contract with Yahoo, regarding Yahoo search engine being replaced by Bing. Like the Google interface, this website is simple; but with daily changing of beautiful background wallpapers. Just like Google, it has the preview facility, wherein the user can view a snap of the webpage without opening it.

Yahoo
Yahoo is another web search engine which ranks second. Contrary to the simple and uncluttered search interface of Google and Bing, Yahoo has a homepage that houses loads of entertainment information. You can read news, browse through the latest articles around the world, play games, check out jobs, and access many other features on the homepage itself. The results displayed on the search page by Yahoo is powered by Bing, as per the above mentioned deal. A very useful feature implemented is 'SearchScan' which automatically alerts users in case of computer viruses and spam websites search results.

Dogpile
You can refer to this web tool as the search engine of other search engines. Dogpile is a metasearch engine which does the job of collecting and displaying results from other popular search engines such as Yahoo, Google, Bing, etc. It is now owned by InfoSpace, Inc. and started functioning in November, 1996. It gathers results from all search engines, filters duplicate ones, and then displays the results. If you do not know which search engine you need to find the results from, you can simply use Dogpile.
