Microcurrent Facial Rejuvenation

Microcurrent facial is the latest fad that's grabbed the attention of the beauty market. Read on to know how it works, how long its effects last, and what are the pros and cons of this procedure...
Each one of us desires skin that is soft like a pillow and smooth like a baby's bum. Instead, what we do have is skin that is as fat as a pillow and as red as a diaper rash baby's bum. In today's vain world, where the pressure to look good is astronomical, everyone is on the lookout for something that will magically fix their sagging skin and age spots and lines. Needless to say, the face is the most visible part of the body, so with age, people try out all kinds of beauty treatments that can keep fine lines and open pores at bay. And among the host of treatments that have made a name for themselves is microcurrent facial rejuvenation. This is a type of microcurrent therapy that is used on the face. Given below are details regarding this new and upcoming facial treatment.

What is Microcurrent Facial Rejuvenation?
Microcurrent facial is a type of skin tightening procedure which helps to tighten and tone the skin, so as to bring back the suppleness of your skin. This is a treatment where a machine sends electrical impulses of very low voltage but high frequency through the skin. This has two pronged effects on the skin - it triggers cell production, thus, leading to formation of new layers of skin which can replace the damaged ones on the surface. It also leads to stimulation of collagen formation and remodeling which helps to tighten the existing layers of skin.

How Does It Work?
The microcurrent that is passed acts on the facial muscles and the superficial skin tissue. It stimulates the facial muscles by generating a slight amount of vibration. This is what helps to tighten the skin of the muscles. It is claimed that when this therapy is used it leads to prevent the formation of frown lines and so, prevents the onset of facial signs of aging.

What are the Benefits of This Procedure?
There are said to be many noticeable effects of this treatment, including tighter and toned skin. Once the skin is tight, then the scars seem faded and the open pores almost become invisible. Also, due to tight skin, the face appears slimmer and more taut, which makes the facial features far more visible. However, the biggest advantage of this new and upcoming procedure is that it is highly non-invasive in nature. Unlike laser skin resurfacing, which is a slightly painful procedure that requires topical application of anesthesia and then acts on the deeper layers of the skin, microcurrent facial is non-invasive in nature. Also, laser skin resurfacing comes with a fair share of risks, like pigmentation and slight burns, which are absent when going in for a microcurrent therapy for face.

There are a few downsides of this kind of therapy. Though this is a far cheaper option than actual facelifts, microcurrent facelifts results vary from person to person, with some women swearing by this new found magic wand for facial treatments and some women claiming that it didn't help them in any way at all. So, it is not a one-fits-all treatment option. Also, it cannot be definitively determined as to how long the results of this facelift without surgery last after a sitting, though in most cases, it does not last for more than a few months. Also, quite a few sittings of this procedure will be required to bring about worthwhile results that will last for an appreciable amount of time. However, one should not go in for this procedure with the hope of expecting miraculous results, especially if basic facial skin care is not maintained. So, in the end, it's your call on whether you want to go for this option or not. The best thing would be not to go for microcurrent facial rejuvenation with unrealistic expectations of looking like Snow White, and hopefully, you won't be disappointed!
