Mrs. Goodwill's Farewell

Basically about a patient who chose to end her life.
Pinned on bed,
Paralyzed, useless...
Even the angels I raised thought so,
Alone, lonely, abandoned...

Watched by paid strangers,
Painted in white,
80 years, now even breathing Is a problem,
Suffocated by thoughts of yesterday.

Wondering, what went wrong,
As tears that were gone for a while,
Were overflowing, forgotten.

The hopes that you would come,
Were eradicated by the now,
Hopeful but hopeless goodbye,

As I end this life,
Of joy and sorrow,
I remember the smiles,
Of both you and me.
