Yeast Infection Itching Relief

Itchiness is a bothersome and annoying condition caused by several reasons. Yeast infection is one of the cause of itching which is accompanied by burning sensation. The constant sensation to scratch may seem to give momentary relief, but, it is found to aggravate the symptoms of yeast infection altogether.

Yeast Infection
Yeast infection, also known as Candidiasis, is caused by a fungus known as Candida albicans. This fungus is naturally present in the body of the human beings and is not harmful as long as it is present in suitable quantities. But, due to certain reasons, the amount of fungus in the body rises resulting in yeast infection or the Candida infection. Yeast infection is usually seen in the mouth or genitals. Excess consumption of sugar and antibiotics can cause the fungus to grow in the body.

Secondly, women taking birth control pills or undergoing chemotherapy are also at a risk of having yeast infection. Having a sexual intercourse with a person suffering from yeast infection (vaginal or penile) can also contribute in transmitting it from one person to the other. Severe itching and burning sensation in the affected parts are the prominent symptoms of yeast infection. Itching caused due to yeast infection makes a person restless. Fortunately there are certain natural home remedies that provide quick relief.

Yeast Infection Remedies
If severe symptoms of yeast infection are observed, one should consult the doctor as early as possible. However, for time being, you can make use of certain foods that effectively reduce yeast infection itching. Let us take a look at it.

Yogurt
Plain yogurt is one of the most effective natural cure for yeast infection. You can either consume plain yogurt (without sugar) or apply it to the affected area to reduce itching. One should be careful not to add sugar to it as sugar helps in fungal overgrowth. You can dip cotton bud in plain yogurt and apply it to the affected area, 2-3 times day to get relief from itching.

Garlic
Garlic is used as a natural remedy for various purposes for its anti fungal and anti bacterial properties. Garlic effectively fights off the fungus and also prevents its overgrowth and multiplication. You can apply garlic paste directly to the affected areas (except the genitals) for quick relief. Secondly, including garlic in your diet or having garlic capsules also help to cure yeast infection naturally.

Apple Cider Vinegar
One of the other effective home remedies is using apple cider vinegar. You can add water to this vinegar and apply it to the affected area to get relief from itching. Similarly, you can even add a cup of apple cider vinegar in your bathtub and have a bath in it regularly. One should not substitute white vinegar for the same, nor apply apple cider vinegar directly to the affected area.

Other products like oregano oil, olive leaf extract, tea tree oil can also be used for the similar purpose. However, one needs to carefully look at the ingredients before buying or using these products. One can even go for cold compress or cold baths to get relief from yeast infection itching. Boric acid and hydrogen peroxide are also recommended by some people to treat itching caused due to yeast infection. However, there are certain side effects related to it. The Candida cleanse diet is considered as the most efficient treatment method to cure yeast infections. According to this diet, one needs to avoid dairy, fermented and sugar containing foods to prevent multiplication of the Candida fungus. One should rather consume vegetables, whole grain foods, yogurt, fish, etc. in sufficient amounts.

It is recommended that one should consult the doctor and get the condition properly diagnosed before commencing any treatment. Lastly, if itchiness persists for a longer time, you should go to the doctor immediately.
