Hello

This is a poem about loving someone and having to let them go.
I wrote you a letter just to say hello
It’s been a really long time since I saw you last
I remember when we use to laugh so carefree
Then I’m also haunted by our past

Hello…Goodbye…two words so familiar
You’re sometimes a ghost to me, were you ever real?
I’ve only heard silence as the years pass by
So I have no idea how you feel

Lies built upon lies
I feel the pain long after the fire
Fire turns to ashes…
Ashes turn to dust and simply blow away

I’m probably only talking to myself
Just a crazy girl trying to say hi
Now that I’ve captured this on paper
Think it’s time…I said….goodbye

Will always hold you in my heart
Try hard to only remember what was good
Still the screams come out as tormented fragments
I’ll still never forget you, even if I could

Lies built upon lies
I feel the pain long after the fire
Fire turns to ashes….
Ashes turn to dust and simply blow away

Yes, it simply blows away….
