Chapter Twenty Two - Kitty
"Are you sure you're not hungry?" Mom asks me, concern crossing her face. "I can make something, if you'd like."
"No thanks." I murmur.
"Sweetie," Mom walks towards me and places her hand on my shoulder, "Is there anything you want to talk about? You don't seem like yourself." Her warm brown eyes stare into mine.
There is so much I want to talk about, so much I need to tell, but it's not for my mom to know.
I shake my head.
I walk towards the living room couch, grab my black and white Varsity jacket, then slip it on. "I'm heading out."
"Out where?" Mom asks, her voice filled with worry.
"Just gonna walk around. I'll be back," I say, "Promise." I walk towards the front door, open it, step outside then close it behind me.
As I walk to my front yard, I notice that there is a guy standing there, with his back facing me. He is tall, has brown hair, and is wearing a baggy black sweater and jeans.
"Um, excuse me!" I call, "Is there something I can help you with?"
Suddenly, the guy slowly turns around. Ferris.
"What are you doing here?" I snap.
"Can we just talk?" He calls.
