Being Beautiful - Chapter Seven

Briana is a 16-year-old girl who hosts a web show. She doesn't know her life without it and she just gives great advice on how to love yourself and no one else.
Chapter 7: Web showing

Fangirling! Over me? No. Don't. Lol. I hardly ever get any fan mail, so it's kind of good to actually get some and no I won't ever skip over messages like these. They keep my day going. Ian says hi. He's actually waving like all in my face. I'll attach a picture so that you could see how ignorant he is. He just slapped me for putting that. Lol. I love your fangirling. And yes. We will try. What's the month? November? We'll try to come and see you sometime in January. Is that okay? I mean. I can't make promises, but I've saved up a lot of money so it might be possible if my parents say yeah. And seeing you would make my life also.

Love Briana.

I hit send and looked over at Ian as he smashed his hands against my face in a high-five motion. "You're really ignorant," I said. He just smiled and pulled my face against his and kissed my cheek. I laughed and he stood up.

"Alright," he said shuffling in his jammies. "What's the show tonight about?"

"I don't know," I said shutting my laptop and watching him shuffle. "Liz said she wanted to be more into it."

"Yeah. I heard that part on the phone. Who's all going to be in it?"

"Well... I'm not sure. I thought that Liam and Lucas were going to be on it, but I guess not, so it's just you and me and Liz and Alexander."

"No Eric?"

"He's sleeping."

We eyed one another until Ian asked, "What about Kaleb?"

"Hmm?" I asked pretending like I didn't hear him the first time.

"Kaleb? You know, Alexander's brother? The one on the football team. Yeah. Is he coming?"

I sighed and looked down contemplating on telling Ian the truth or just letting it hang. "No" was all that came out of my mouth. I had nothing else to say. Nothing else mattered except the fact that he turned me down swiftly and without even thinking about it.

Before Ian could answer to my one word answer, my door came open and Lucas stood there with a spoon in his mouth. "Alexander's here."

Ian and I sprinted downstairs and saw Alexander standing there with his jammies and a blanket in his hands. "Hey!" I jumped straight into his arms and he smiled and held me.

"So. What do I have to say in this video?" He couldn't even hide the excitement in his voice; he was more excited than I was.

"You have to ask Liz. She's taking over for this one night."

Alexander smiled. "I don't think that I have ever exchanged words with her."

"Well she's in the kitchen," I said smiling. He gave me an uneasy glance before I pushed him through.

"You're a good friend," Ian said smiling. I rolled my eyes as we turned and walked into the dining room. "So how are we doing this web show tonight?"

"I don't know," I said collapsing on the couch. "I was thinking of random things, but I just quite frankly don't know."

"How about we just..." Ian said and then he looked up as he was thinking. "I'm not capable of thinking."

I rolled my eyes. "Well I had been talking about Liz a lot on the previous shows, and most people want to know who she is. I guess this is a start."

"True, still. Why did Liz wanna be on the web show tonight?"

I smiled and looked at him. "We had been getting along better I guess. Maybe since this is so important to me that's why it seals the deal."

I sat lamely in my bed with Liz, Ian and Alexander close by. I opened the web on my computer, signed into my blogging website and opened the camera and pressed begin.

"Hola my fellow viewers," I said smiling brightly. "Um... Hmm. I know you know Ian, but I bet you're like, 'Who are the other faces whom we are not so sure of.' Well, this here is Alexander. He just moved in next door and he's absolutely amazing. Just to let you know. Anddd--" I pulled Liz close to me. "This is probably one of the best people in the world, my sister. Yes, yes. I bet you're fangirling because I just showed you who my sister was. Yeah. I get it."

"You act like I'm a big deal," Liz said.

I smiled. "Cause you are. My family is a big deal. And I had been talking about you a lot in my shows and they have been endlessly asking me about you."

"Yeah. I saw. You were talking about the way that I shave my legs last week."

I laughed as I looked down. "Oops. I thought I would have gotten away with that..."

"But you didn't," Ian said shaking his head. "I'm glad you don't embarrass me like that in front of all those people."

"What? How many people?" Liz asked frantically.

"Ian is just trying to scare you," I said calming her down.

"Yeah," Alexander chimed in. "I've watched this show a lot. It can't be that many people. Probably about 100,000."

"PROBABLY?! That's like gathering all of my city together for a get-together. That's a hell of a lot of people."

"Keep it PG," Ian said.

I rolled my eyes and chimed in. "Anyway, getting back on track since they threw me off. I am going to look at the ask box that I have stitched on here and we're each going to answer a question." I looked at each of them. "Can you all do this without arguing?"

"Of course!" Ian said placing his arm around my neck so that it felt like a comfortable pillow. "Anything for you."

I rolled my eyes and opened the tab that had my web show on it. I looked at the ask box and scrolled down randomly to questions that I hadn't seen.

"Okay, I'll go first." I looked at the question. "This is from bam492 and it says, 'If you had one day left on the earth, how would you spend it?'" I looked around. "Honestly, I might just eat the whole day and spend time with my family and my friends. I mean, there isn't a thing in the world that isn't more important than family, friends and food. The three f's." Liz, Ian and Alexander laughed at me.

"Ooh, the next question has my name in it," Ian said. He looked at it. "'Ian, how do you feel if Briana ever got a boyfriend' from sasha39." He looked up at the camera. "Well, honestly like any other best friend, I'd be jealous cause he would be soaking more of the time with her and then I'd just be there like a sitting duck without a best friend." I smiled, looked at him and kissed his cheek.

"I won't be getting a boyfriend anytime soon just for you." He grabbed my arm and held it to his heart.

"I guess I'll take the next one," Liz said. "Ermm. Oh here's a good one. 'Who was your first crush' from ja$min101." Liz smiled as if she were remembering a good memory. "I was in the fifth grade and Briana was in the fourth and I had a crush on the same guy she had on. What was his name?" She asked looking at me.

I frowned. "Lyle Ferguson."

"Oh yeah. And then he asked me out..." I buried my head in my hands. "And I said yeah and Briana didn't talk to me for weeks." And she laughed. I sat there with pale embarrassment.

"The next one," Alexander said. "'Would you rather live without happiness or without love?' from Jannneett. He just shrug. "Honestly, love has never come my way, so I just would rather live without it than with it. So I choose happiness."

"Strangely I agree," Ian said. "Love only comes with heartache y'know?"

"I disagree," Liz and I said practically at the same time. She looked at me. "You first," she challenged.

"I just don't understand. Love is one of those things that you can't help. You can't help who you fall in love with or what you do in love. I love to see people in love because love is amazing. I just... I don't. Love is one of those things that you can't see, but you can feel it and I wanna feel it. I wanna meet my soul partner and everyone else does also."

All eyes were on me. "Well," Liz said. "You blew my answer right out of the water."
