We would like to dedicate this book to our families, relatives, and friends, especially to all migrant workers around the globe.
It's not that we want to leave our loved ones in our homeland, but we're committed to do anything for them no matter where life takes us. Yes, it's hard to be away from people we love, yet it's even harder to see our hungry families, and children who couldn't go to school for their studies.
We're willing to sacrifice our own happiness for our families, so that they could live a better life. It's our joy to provide everything they need. If it means to give our entire lives for them, we're ready to do so. We believe that someday we would reach our goals in life.
Everything in this world is temporary. Some of us will go back to our beloved country to be with their families, and some will stay for very good reasons because they have to. We will all carry the good and bad memories from these foreign lands. But the people we've helped are going to remember us forever in their hearts. The important thing is our thoughts and love for them.
Though some people would never understand and ridicule us, our hearts are strong and pure for we have shared our blessings to other people. We call it selfless love. Though life offers so many challenges, we would continue to work hard and persevere our profession. It's not a question of what we could give unto others, but it's how we have transformed their lives into goodness.
The Filipino Migrant Writers' Society believes this book will remind other migrant workers to come together and share their life experiences through writing poetry for the next generation of expats.
