Chains Of Torture

Dedicated to all the victims of domestic abuse, let's hope they find the courage to leave.
You cry the tears of a broken romance again,
And you call on me to take away the pain,
And I tell you again, just to walk away,
But still you go back for more of the same.

You break the surface for an intake of air,
In-between screams of terror and fear,
Your frightened eyes are streaked with your tears,
And blood, your blood, is clotted in your hair.

The ropes that bind,
The shackles of shame,
The chains of torture,
It's all the same,

Locked in a cage
Or locked in a cell,
The chains of torture
Send you to Hell.

He's beat you again, but still you deny,
You believe his excuses, you believe his lies,
You believe he'll love you till the end of time,
Run back to his arms, let him finish his crime.

One day you will sleep and never wake up,
I'll look at your bruises as you lay in the morgue,
Unrecognizable of what you once were,
It'll take d.n.a. to know who you are.

The ropes that bind,
The shackles of shame,
The chains of torture,
It's all the same.

Locked in a cage
Or locked in a cell,
The chains of torture
Will send you to Hell.
