Deja-Vu

When it's the same old thing over and over again… it's time to get out.
We've been through this before,
It's the same old points argued over again,
The same old scolding, the same old bruises,
The same old lament...

We never worked it out last time,
We just stumbled through wire and mines,
Crept through no man's land beaten and worn,
Searching for the sunshine.

But the light never came;
And we crawled and fumbled in the darkness,
Stuck in a rut that goes around in circles,
Trying to make sense of the madness.

Living with you is all Deja-vu,
Night after night; fight after fight;
And we both know what's coming next,
There's no use us pretending a happy ending,
When we both know our love can't be fixed.

So let's leave it all behind,
Let's call it a day, go our separate ways,
Let's walk toward the dawn and be reborn,
And bury our past in the grave.

Let's shed that final tear,
For I just can't go on like this anymore,
And a look into your eyes tells me you comply...
For a love's not a love when it's worn.

For living with you is all Deja-vu,
Night after night; fight after fight;
And we both know what's coming next,
There's no use us pretending a happy ending,
When we both know our love can't be fixed.
