Fly Away - Chapter 20

I'm sorry, I haven't posted any chapter lately.
"Are you sure? We just got here. This doesn't have to happen now, we still have more time. And it should be romantic, not like this," he said looking a bit sad while getting up.
"I'm sorry, I know it should be special," I said after some time.
David leaned down and kissed my forehead "I love you," he whispered.
"Me too," I whispered back.

We spent the day in the lake, taking sunbath and playing around with each other in the water. At night David made us dinner, he cooked lasagna and he said he learned cooking it some days before, just to impress me.

*That night, before going to bed*
"I'm exhausted," David said, "We should go to bed."
"Yes, I'm so tired."
"So, I can stay here in the sofa and you can sleep in the bed." He said and I just looked at him like he was crazy.
"What?" He asked.
"Are you kidding me?! We're dating for Christ's sake! We can sleep in the same bed and still not having sex, come on David I'm not like that, I know we both need this to be special and I won't push us into something we're not ready yet!" I stated.

"Uh I don't know," David looked sort of worried.
"David, I'm not like that, I'm not going to push you into something you don't want to do, you should know that."
He looked at me still thinking about it.
"I swear!" I said.
"Okay," he finally said and I just ran, jumped into his lap and hugged him tightly.
"I love you," I wasn't even paying attention when I said it, until it hit me really hard. It was the first time I had said it and after saying I felt very nervous and worried that it might've been too soon.

He looked at me surprised, and his mouth opened. I could tell he wasn't expecting that, but neither was I. He composed himself after some seconds and kissed me like we were in the end of a Disney movie... where the girl always gets the prince in the end.
"I love you too," he said it back, once he pulled apart our passionate kiss.
