Fly Away - Chapter 7

Thank you all for the comments and for reading my story!
The next day everything was in the place it should be. Everything was decorated, the house looked nice.
"Liz, we're going to do a dinner for our neighbors tonight. So please go to their houses now and tell them!" My mum told me while I was coming downstairs.
I looked at her, she knew me too well so she continued:
"Yes, you really have to do that!"
"But mum." I argued.
"No buts." She argued back.
I sighed and head to our neighbors' house.
I knocked on the door of the house that was on the left side of ours.
Nobody answered it, so I knocked again this time louder. I heard footsteps inside the house, and then someone opened the door.

"Hi, I'm the new neighbor and we're doing some dinner tonight for everyone. Would you please come?" I asked to the young woman who was standing at the door.
"I don't know..." She started saying with a shy voice. I thought she had 13 years, or maybe less.
"Who's there?" I heard a man's voice ask.
"It's our new neighbor, Tom." She shouted.
I heard some footsteps which I thought it was from Tom.

When I first saw him the only thought I had in my mind was, "Man, he's fuckin' gorgeous." He was shirtless and just with black shorts. His abs were well-defined, he looked hot. He had light brown eyes like me, and light brown hair too. Oh, and he had a piercing in his ear and other in his nose.

"Hi." He told me while doing a gesture with his right hand.
"Hello, I'm the daughter of the new neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Jones." I told him smiling.
He gave me a warm smile and asked, "Do you want to come in?"
"I shouldn't, I still have to talk to the other neighbors." I sighed.
"Do you want company? I can join you if you want to." He said shyly.
"Yes, of course." I laughed.
He laughed too, a cute laughter.

"Susie stay here, I'm going out with..." He looked at me, "What's your name again?"
"I never told it, it's Liz."
"Oh, cool name! Susie, we're going out. I'll come back later, tell mum and dad." He said now looking at his sister, I suppose it was his sister.
We headed to the other houses and told them about dinner, Tom always talked too. And about an hour later, we got out from the last house.
"What time is it?" I asked him when I heard my noisy and hungry tummy.
"Almost midday, do you want to have lunch with me in some cafe or restaurant?"

"Hum, yea. I'll text my parents to let them know that I'm not coming to lunch." I end up saying.
He smiled and looked to the other way. I felt some kind of butterflies in my stomach, he was so gorgeous and he wanted to be here with me when he could be doing something else, something more interesting.

"Are you sure you want to have lunch with me? You probably have something better to do!" I said to him. He looked at me so surprised that I had to look away from him.
"Of course I want, if I didn't want to, I wouldn't ask." He said while putting a hand in my shoulder, what felt really nice. His touch was warm, just like his smile.
"Good," it was the only thing I remembered to say.
He smiled again and I smiled back, and then we just laughed.
We were walking to the cafe when he started singing.

I looked at him, he looked back and then looked away... But I kept looking at him.
"What?!" He whispered shyly.
"What are you singing?" I asked him, trying to make him look at me again.
"Nothing."
"Oh, tell me! I must say that you sing really well." He looked at me with the look that says, 'Are you crazy, girl?' But I just smiled.
"You think?" He said, talking louder than before.
"Yes, sing again please." I looked at him with puppy eyes, so he just sighed and started singing.

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

He had an amazing voice, soft but it was deep. It touched my heart badly, he was such a good singer!

"Oh my God, you're awesome!" I said excitedly.
"Really?" He smiled shyly.
"Yes, you're freakin' amazing! Believe me."
"I want to do a band, but I have no one to join... My friends don't play any instrument!"
"I play piano."

That's right, I play piano since kindergarten, and I always loved it!
I looked at him while I thought I shouldn't have told him, because then he would have to come up with some lame excuse or something, so I couldn't join the band he still doesn't have.

He smiled and then asked me if I was kidding.
"No, I'm not kidding."
"Do you want to play in a band, with me?" He asked in an excited voice.
"Hell yea! But you're sure? It's a joke, right?"
