Fishtail Braid
First shampoo and condition your hair with a clarifying shampoo and conditioner. Now blow dry hair straight with the help of a blow dryer and paddle brush. Once hair is dry and straight, spritz hair with a light hairspray and create a side part. Now for the fishtail braid instructions. Start braiding your hair into a fishtail by starting two inches from the hairline, opposite the to side part. Separate hair into two sections and pull out a thin strand of hair from the left hand side section. Place this thin section over the right hand side. Again take out another thin strand of hair from the outside the right section and add it to the left side. Repeat on each side until you have finished braiding all the hair. Once you come to the ends, secure the braid with a elastic band. Pull out a few strands of hair from the fishtail braid to create wispy flyaway.

Braided Updo
If you are looking for wedding hairstyles with braids then here is just the perfect one. Shampoo and condition your hair with an anti frizz shampoo and a shine enhancing conditioner for creating this braided updo. Blow dry hair straight with the help of a paddle brush and a blow dryer. Once hair is dry, part your hair at the center. Now separate hair by sectioning off hair two inch from the hairline. Secure the front segment of hair with hair clips so that they are out of the way. Take a two inch section of hair above each ear and secure it with a clip. Now brush the rest of the back segment of hair into a low bun. Apply a bit of shine serum on the bun and secure the bun at the nape of your head with some bobby pins. Tuck the ends of hair inside the bun, so that the bun looks neat without any flyaways. Braid the front sections of hair into two simple braid and arrange them over the crown of your head, securing the braid with bobby pins. Apply a bit of pomade over the braid so that it stays smooth against your head.

Cornrow Braids
One of the best hairstyles with braids for black women is the cornrow braids. To get this great hairstyle, first part hair on the left side and then begin braiding from the right of the part along your hairline. As you continue braiding, add thin sections of hair from both the right and left sides as you continue down the side of your head. When you add new sections of hair into the braid, just make sure that you pull them underneath the braid. This will create an inverted side French braid look. When you reach behind your ears, stop adding any more sections of new hair. Braid regularly till you reach the ends and secure braid with an elastic.

There are many different types of braids like French braids, Dutch braid, fishtail braid, micro braids and pixie braids that you can create for different hairstyles. You can create many different hairstyles by using braids in different ways.
