Frozen Yogurt Recipes

Recipe with Chocolate

  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 2 teaspoons
  • Fat-free evaporated milk - 1 (12 fluid ounce) can
  • White sugar - ¾ cup
  • Semisweet chocolate chips - ½ cup
  • Plain low-fat yogurt - 1 cup

Take a saucepan and add cornstarch and sugar to it. Stir them together and then add evaporated milk and chocolate chips to it. Place the saucepan over medium heat and heat the mixture to melt the chocolate chips. Keep stirring the mixture and let it become thick in texture. Then, remove the saucepan from heat and add vanilla and plain yogurt to the mixture. Combine all the ingredients properly and let the mixture cool for a while. Pour the mixture into a bowl and refrigerate it to chill completely. Then pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze it by following the instructions directed by the manufacturer. Recipe with Strawberry

  • Heavy cream - ½ cup
  • Strawberry yogurt - 1 (8 ounce) container
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Unflavored gelatin - 1 envelope
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Chopped fresh strawberries - 3 cups
  • Pinch salt

To prepare this, first place the strawberries in a medium-sized freezer proof bowl. Sprinkle the sugar over these strawberries and keep the bowl aside. After 15 minutes, drain off the excess juice saturated in the bowl and transfer it to a saucepan. Then combine, gelatin with the juice in the saucepan and leave the mixture for 2 minutes. Place the saucepan over medium-low heat and cook the mixture by stirring constantly. Stir the mixture until the gelatin gets dissolved completely. Mash the strawberries in the bowl and pour the juice mixture over them. Then add yogurt, lemon juice, salt and cream in the bowl. Mix all the ingredients properly and cover the bowl with a plate. Place this bowl in the freezer for about 2 hours. After 2 hours take out the bowl from freezer and beat the mixture at medium speed to attain smooth texture. Again place the bowl in the freezer and refrigerate the strawberry yogurt for 6 hours.

Recipe with Peach

  • Cold water - ¼ cup
  • Fat-free reduced-sugar vanilla yogurt - 16 ounces
  • Sugar - ¼ cup
  • Unflavored gelatin - 1 (.25 ounce) envelope
  • Fresh or frozen unsweetened sliced peaches (thawed) - 2 cups

Place the peaches in a food processor and blend them well to form puree. Pour them into a bowl, cover and set them aside. Then, take a small saucepan and pour cold water into it. Add the unflavored gelatin and leave it for one minute. Then add in sugar and cook the mixture over low heat to dissolve the sugar and gelatin in it. Take a small bowl and combine pureed peach, yogurt and gelatin mixture in it. Blend all the ingredients together and pour the mixture into a square shaped dish. Cover the dish and freeze the mixture for 3 to 4 hours. Then, take out the dish from the freezer and cut pieces of the frozen mixture. Transfer the pieces to a bowl and blend well to attain smooth texture. Pour the mixture to a round freezer container and freeze until it becomes completely firm, say for about 2 hours.
