How Is It?

This poem is about not understanding the way the world functions... or the people in it. We all fail to see things right in front of us!
How is it, that some people are so caught up with themselves,
That they don't see the wrong in the world?

How is it, there is so much poverty in other countries,
People can’t donate food or money to a little boy or a girl?

How is it, there are children everywhere that are being badly abused,
Yet the people around them are so blind,
They don’t seem to notice the bruises?

How is it, we can go and buy things we don’t necessarily need,
But no one wants to donate money just as a really good deed?

How is it, that "we" can be so happy and content with our lives,
That we don’t seem to notice the sadness in other people's eyes?

How is it, people are so worried about their looks and what others think,
That they can’t look at themselves in the mirror, instead they just blink.

How is it, most of us are guilty of at least one of these things,
However, we don’t seem to realize,
How important it is that we have to make a change?

How is it, I am proud of my life and the things that lie before me,
And others couldn’t give a damn to this poem or God's great glory.
