Chapter Five:
Mica's POV

I ran to the door. "Elijah, wait! Don't go!" He paused, but didn't look back. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say anything wrong."

"Don't worry about it, Mica. It's nothing. I just gotta get home. It's getting late." He turned slightly, waved and walked away. I watched him leave and sighed. My phone buzzed and I looked down at it. Unknown Number... I hit open, wondering if it was Trevor.

Hey it's Trevor, do you wanna hang out?
I read it and smiled, quickly texting back. When and where? As soon as the text sent, I saved his number in my contacts.
I walked inside and shut the door. My phone buzzed again and I looked down at it eagerly.
The Breeze in 5?
sure :)

I ran upstairs to change into something nice. I changed into my favorite light blue sundress. It had darker blue flowers on it, and I slid on a camisole that matched the color of the flowers. I dug through my shoes to find blue flats, shoved them on, ran my brush through my hair and looked in the mirror.

I grabbed my phone, just as it started ringing. "Hello?" I answered it, walking down the stairs.

"Mica, I am so mad at you!" Marie's voice shouted through the phone. I cringed.

"What did I do?" I asked, shutting the front door behind me.

"Bree says she's mad at you too." She shouted, louder this time. I groaned.

"What did I do?" I repeated, slowly walking down the driveway.

"We haven't hung out for, like, ever!" I could hear the pout in her voice and I laughed. "Don't laugh at me." She whined. "Seriously, I never get to see you anymore. Except for in school, and it sucks." I heard Bree say something, but I couldn't hear. "Oh, and Bree says if you don't hang out with us soon, she'll come over and hang you."

I laughed. "How about tomorrow? We can hang out all day."

"Or we could have a sleep over today, and hang out all day tomorrow!" Marie said, sounding happier. "We could come pick you up right now!"

"Um... I can't right now, but maybe when my dad comes home. I can check with him then, around five." I didn't want them to know I was hanging out with Trevor, at least not yet.

"Aww, but that's like 3 hours away." Marie whined again. "Alright. I'll call you around five. He better say yes, or we're going to come kidnap you."

I laughed. "Okay, I'll talk to you later." I laughed again. "I love you guys."

"Yeah, we love you too, even though we have to wait until five to hang out with you..." She trailed off, but I could hear the smile in her voice.

"Mkay, bye." I ended the call, shoved my phone in my pocket and skipped towards The Breeze, my favorite place to hang out. Mainly teenagers, and some younger adults hang out there. It's a cafe, ice cream shop and small restaurant.

When I walked in, Trevor was sitting down in one of the booths in the back. "Hey, sorry it took me so long." I said, sliding into the seat across from him. "It took longer to walk then I thought it would."

"It's cool." He said, running his hand through his hair. "You look amazing."

"Thanks." I smiled, blushing slightly. A waitress came over, holding a small clipboard and a pen. She glanced at me, then Trevor, and after deciding he was too young, she sighed, and asked if she could take our order.

An hour later we were walking out of The Breeze, holding ice cream cones and laughing. My phone buzzed and I slid it out of my pocket, glancing at it. A text from Marie.

It's like 5:30 did u ask ur dad yet?

"Holy crap, it's 5:30... I gotta go." I said, shoving my phone back in my pocket.

"Is everything okay?" He asked, finishing his ice-cream. I nodded.

"Yeah, everything's fine. I'll talk to you later. I had fun." I hugged him, nervously and he hugged me back, his arms wrapping around me.

After a few seconds, we pulled back. I kissed his cheek and ran off, waving goodbye. I practically sprinted to my house, gasping for breath when I came in the door. Dad was at the table on his laptop, reading something.

I gulped down some water, and sat beside him, waiting until I could breathe, before asking, "Dad, can I spend the night at Marie's with Bree?"

He glanced up at me, seeming distracted. "What? Oh, uh yeah, sure. Are they gonna pick you up?"

"I can ask her. I'm sure her mom won't mind." Marie's mom was like a mom to me, since my mom died.

"Okay then. Go ahead." He turned back to his computer, scanning through it.

I stared at him for a second, wondering what had him so pre-occupied, but eventually I turned away and hurried upstairs to call Marie and start packing.

Fifteen minutes later, I was walking out the door with my packed backpack on my back, and my cell phone in my pocket. "Where are you going?" Dad asked, looking at me, holding a glass of water in one hand. His other hand was resting on the keyboard of his laptop.

"Uhm, Marie's. You said I could over if her mom could pick me up." I reminded him, smiling.

"Oh, I did? Okay. Well have a good time. And I'll see you some time tomorrow." He got up, and walked over to hug me goodbye.

"Are you okay?" I asked him as he walked back to the table.

He nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just got some stuff to do for work. I've been working on it all day. Something in the books is messed up and the whole business is screwed if we don't figure this thing out."

"Oh, okay. Well I hope you figure it out. Love you." I had no clue what he had said, but I waved goodbye, and shut the door behind me. Marie and Bree were in the minivan with Marie's mom Angie.

Marie and Bree hugged me when I climbed in the car and Angie turned to smile. "Hey you, haven't seen your face in a while... except for this morning when I took you to your detention. How was that anyway?"

"It was boring. We just had to do some paperwork stuff. And after that..." I turned to Marie and Bree, "Elijah came to my house and we worked on our Earth Science project... and after that..." I grinned. "I hung out with Trevor!"

"Is that why you're in your favorite sundress?" Marie smiled. Bree was bouncing up and down, excitedly.

"So, what did you and Trevor do? And where did you go? Did he kiss you?"

I laughed and started explaining, knowing this was the start to a fun, gossip filled night with my two best friends.
I'm too lazy to type out a poll right now, so just comment and tell me who's pic you want next please.
