A breath of fresh air including a slight of sunlight which brightens up the entire room wakes me from my deep slumber. The minutes I open my eye, I could see Taylor while our noses only an inch away from each other; breathing the same air. He had his arm around my waist locking me from going anywhere meanwhile I grip onto his shirt the entire night, scare he might sneak out to somewhere.
Without a thought, I slide myself closer toward him until our noses touch each other, while there are butterflies in my stomach. As smile suddenly appears across his lips, "Morning," he whispers when his eye are still half-close.
"What did you just said?" I ask want to hear him say it again.
"Morning," he repeats changing his tone of voice into an old man's voice as he connects eye contact with me, "Do you have a good night sleep?" He asks pulling me close toward him, using his arm.
"Yah, I did," I mumble as my cheek starts to blush, want this moment to stay forever and forever, "Taylor are you feeling ok? You never get a checkup after you wake up," I ask remember what the doctor said to me yesterday.
"I feel extremely awesome," he jokes, but his lips lose its color and become white than last night.
"I have to call the doctor to check on you," I say letting go of his shirt and lift my upper body; break our position with each other. I search from the emergency call button and press it.
He grabs my wrist, "Elisa, I feel fine," he says and rips the button away from my hand and places it back to where it used to be.
"We'll know you're truly fine once the doctor exams you," I say, but I can see he doesn't want a checkup at all.
"E, I'm fine," he says, hangs a serious face.
The doctors walk through the door before I could say another thing. I slide of the bed while the doctor walk next to her and start to exam him, "Look at the ceiling," the doctor says as he flashes the small flashlight in his hand onto Taylor's eyeball.
"I'm fine doctor, can I leave?" Taylor says with an annoying look on his head.
"No Taylor, we test something is wrong within your brain, but since all of your previous records in hospital disappears in the government computer, we need to rescan you," the doctor explains, he then turns to the nurse, "Go prepare the brain scam."
"There is nothing wrong with me, I just want to get out of this fucking hospital," Taylor yells as if he is hiding about something that I don't even know.
"I can't let you go until I am sure everything is good," the doctor says walking out of the room with a sigh.
As soon as the doctor leaves, Taylor gets out of the bed taking the needle in his arm out and get dressed.
"Taylor, you can't leave, you heard what the doctor just said."
"I am not staying in here," he says all sweating, he doesn't look so well.
"I'm going to die anyway, so what's the point," he mumbles.
"What the hell are you talking about? You aren't dying Taylor, you are perfectly healthy." I say worrying aid there actually something is wrong with his brain which makes him said these stupid things.
Taylor looks at me as if he is jealous of me, he then shakes his head, "You don't know a thing about me E or what kind of deathly disease is growing in my brain," he brushes out then covers his mouth knowing he said something, he shouldn't had.
"What diseases? I thought we are done with secrets?" I shout scare about what he is going to say.
"I'm going to jail in one month after all, so who cares right, I'm planning to die in jail anyway," Taylor mumbles to himself.
"You don't need to know E, all you need to do is forget about me," he says smiling with sadness in his eye.
"You are not going to jail, you are going to stay here and live with me forever until one of us die!" I shout out drop myself completely onto the ground while tears brush out.
"I wish I can accomplish that... but I am sorry, I can't E, face the reality," he grabs his jacket and opens the door.
"Taylor... Parker, don't leave..." I mumble, but he doesn't hear me.
Just the right time a familiar female doctor arrives at the door, "You are not going anywhere Taylor, the brain scam is ready and you haven't have one of these in a long while." Taylor steps backward in a shock, "What the hell are you doing here?" He asks.
"Dr. Rose, nice to finally meet you," the previous doctors come and hold out his hand.
Dr. Rose? This name is so familiar to me, yet, I can't remember where I hear it before.
"Good to see you too," she replies, "Now shall we get this stupid boy into the brain scam room," she adds talking like she knows Taylor, "If he refuses to take it, we can force him to, since I know his parent will be fine with it," she walks past him and come in the room, "Elisa," she calls out my name and bends down on the floor in front of me.
"Taylor, would you please just let us take a brain scam and we will talk about the rest of the treatment," a doctor says.
Taylor takes a last look at me, "I don't want to spend my last month in the hospital, I want to spend it with E," he says.
I lift my eyes and look at him telling him, "I want that too, but I want him to be healthy."
He seems to understand it and nods, "Mom, can I have a moment with E, please."
Dr. Rose nods, "Ok," she muddles and gets me a smile. I smile back ashamed to not recognize her right the way. She gets up from the floor and walks out. Before she closes the door, she sneaks her head in, "Don't take too long."
Taylor throws his jacket on the bed and sits on the floor close to me. He covers his forehead with his hand, "E, I want to tell you in person before anyone does you know... you know..." he drops his hand from forehead to his eye, "I have brain tumor."
Tears unstoppably drop, "It is treatable right?" I ask sobbing.
"I don't want to waste the tie I have left in a hospital room," Taylor says, "I am so tired of surrounding by these walls, with same exact smell. There is no way I will be completely heal, so why bother treating it while I can spend time with you," he says reaching out his hand and grabs mine.
"Is that also a reason why you decide to cover the crime for your gang?" I ask tightening my grip on his hand, as I sob even bigger.
"Kind of, I came here to meet you one last time E, I can't see to get you out of my mind," he says smiling.
My hand automatically rises up and slaps Taylor across the face, "If you really think about me then you should take your chances to getting all better, so you could stay with me forever. Not giving up already!" I shout standing up from the floor and run out of the room to get some fresh hair.
