My Love (Absence)

A longing to be together again.
It's true that I can't touch you,
But you're with me all the time,
You're in my heart, you're in my soul,
You're always on my mind,
And although the miles that separate,
May make you feel ignored,
Tonight, my love, I'm there with you,
To hang on every word.

Won't you tell me your stories,
That I may share your day,
To help break down the barriers,
That keep you so far away,
And my whispered words of adoration,
Sent on a breath of wind,
Will find their way to you, my love,
To give you peace of mind.

So don't feel sad and hide away,
Inside the shadow's web,
Smile, my love, I'm here with you,
We're laid on the same bed,
'Though we may not be physical,
In our little world of dreams,
Your absence may be real, my love,
But your passion still remains.

The heart grows fonder with absence,
And the darkly shadows cast,
Grow weaker with every passing day,
As time brings us together at last,
And just to look into your eyes,
And to see your loving smile,
It makes my spirit soar, my love,
To make absence worth the while.
