Revenge is Best Served Cold... Right? - Chapter 14

Hey, y'all have finally caught up with me now! I am currently working on chapter 15, so the rest of the updates will be a little slow. I am still gathering ideas, so the next few chapter might be a little uneventful. At least 10 comments please?! Comment replies are at the end of the page.
Chapter Fourteen: Am I Italian?

I was still fuming over the fact that Jacob had kissed me and walked away with that same annoying but cute smirk on his face. I was in Spanish class, practicing conjugating verbs; ir, voy, vas, va, vamos, and van. I repeated in my head, I always got that verb mixed up a lot.

"Are you Italian?" A soft, musical sort of voice asked and I looked up immediately. A boy - no, he wasn't a boy, he was more of a man. His figure was tall and he had curly black hair with intense green eyes, like mine.

"Yes, how did you know?" I asked feeling slightly shocked as I looked into his handsome face. I am actually Italian, my dad was born there and my mum was born in England. I get my black hair from my dad and my intense green eyes from my mom. I can also speak Italian fluently; it was the first language I heard when I was born.

"La tua bellezza parla uno di un italiano vero." He responded in flawless Italian, I gave him an even more shocked look before blushing and ducking my head.

"Thank you." I replied gratefully while still blushing, "What is your name?"

"My name is Leo." He said and smiled in his quiet, reserved sort of way, "What is yours, Bella?"

"Justice, Justice Revenge." I said smiling back at his mysterious way of talking and his soft accent. "I don't remember seeing you in my class before Leo." I added as I studied his handsome face, I noted that his skin was tan not pale like mine.

"I'm new, this is my first day. Would you mind if I walked with you to your next class?" Leo asked with a hopeful look in his green eyes which were so similar to mine.

"Sure, do you have Math next?" I asked him as I smiled at him warmly to make him feel welcome.

"As a matter of fact, Bella, I do." He said as a smile broke out across his face and he pushed a lock of black hair off his forehead.

I took up my notebook and closed it before placing it in my bag, since class was over in 10 seconds. "I can carry your bag for you." Leo offered me in a charming way, making me blush a little.

"No, that's ok." I said still trying to get over how handsome he looked for such a young age.

He looked worried for a moment, "Are you sure?" He asked with a slightly confused look like a child.

"Yeah, I'm capable of carrying my own stuff." I said smiling at him reassuringly as we exited the classroom and headed down one hallway before turning right. I noticed girls left and right were giving me dirty or jealous looks as I passed them. I began feeling uncomfortable and I looked up into Leo's cheerful green eyes to see if he was noticing it too.

"Is there something wrong, Bella?" Leo asked when he caught me looking up at him.

"Um, no." I said in an unsure tone of voice as another girl sent me a hateful glare, what is up with these chicas?

We entered the classroom together and Libby immediately marched over, like she had something important to do, "Hiya, I'm Liberty but most people call me Libby." She introduced herself while looking Leo up and down with a critical eye.

"Hello, I am Leo. You look Italian too, are you not?" He asked with a charming smile, he probably sensed that Libby was testing him.

"I am." She agreed raising an eyebrow at him, before going back to her desk and patting the seat next to her for me to sit.

I smiled apologetically at Leo, "Thanks for walking me to class." I said to him before going over to Libby and sitting down in the seat next to her.

"What the heck was all that about?" I whispered and sent her a glare.

"I had to make sure that my sister was with a guy who deserved her. As far as I am concerned that Leo guy seems nice enough but I think you look better with Jake." Libby said lifting her chin up as she spoke and her eyes flashed with defiance.

My mouth fell open slightly in shock, it took me a moment or two to find my voice again, "Um, what?"

"I mean that you and Jacob are a better couple than you and Leo." She said rolling her eyes as if it was obvious about what she had been implying.

"We aren't dating! Where the heck did you hear that from?" I asked feeling completely excluded and exasperated.

"Well, apparently, you two made out in the hallway today and now you're going out." Libby said while flipping her hair over her shoulder and cocking her head to one side.

I flinched slightly as her pale blue eyes looked at me critically, "I..." I mumbled and scratched my wrist, "I... he..."

"Is it true?" Libby asked in a loud, commanding voice.

"Well... yes, but we aren't going out." I finally admitted and looked at her, feeling incredibly guilty. She said nothing in response but simply turned back to looking at the front of the room. I realized that soon after she turned a big smile started spreading across her face. "What? Why are you smiling?" I whined and pouted at her, but she simply shook her head with the same smile growing even bigger.

(Jacob's POV)

I began to space out as the teacher started her lesson; I smiled wistfully as I pondered over the feeling of Justice's lips on mine. She was something special and when we kissed the first time, I knew she was the one for me. When our lips touched it was like fireworks exploding; amazing. The second kiss was even better and I couldn't stop thinking about her, she was almost everywhere I looked. I leaned forward, putting my elbow on the desk and placed my chin in my hand. My eyes rested on Justice's back, she sat so straight and her guard always was up, but why? Just then the bell rang signaling the end of the day, Justice was up immediately and out the door. I quickly stood up and followed her; I noticed that Nathan was outside. I had gotten to know Nathan more after our first encounter, when I had claimed I was Jay's boyfriend, he was a nice guy and we were really good friends now. He walked over to Libby with a shy grin on his face, Lib's face lit up instantly and they walked off together talking. I wasn't the only one watching this interesting scene between the two; Jay was also watching. She had a small smile on her face; I sneaked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist.

(Back to Justice's POV)

I felt someone's arms wrap around my waist, "Oi!" I yelled and jumped before slapping the hands away from me.

"Sorry, did I scare you?" Jacob asked smirking at me and raising an eyebrow.

"No, you didn't, most guys learn the hard way to not touch my waist." I said sending him a death glare as I wrapped my arms around me.

"That sounds fun." He responded flirtatiously and winked at me.

I felt heat rise up to my face, "You better believe it." I muttered in response but then realized that I had somewhat just flirted back.

"Oh really?" He asked and his voice dropped several octaves on the word 'really'.

I looked up into his big brown eyes and tilted my head to one side as I observed him. "Why me?" I asked all of a sudden, I don't know why but it was the first thing I thought of and said.

"What do you mean?" He asked blinking his dark brown eyes and I noticed that there were golden flecks in his eyes as well.

"Why me? Why me, out of all the other beautiful, smart and attractive girls?" I asked focusing my eyes on his boyish features; I noticed also that he had a dimple in one cheek. All these little things were coming to me now of all times and I couldn't help but wonder why.

"Because those girls aren't you," Jacob said, he seemed to be suddenly desperate to make me understand, "You looked at me and didn't see anything, I wanted to prove you wrong, but I ended up falling in love with you." He took me by the shoulders and looked me straight in the eyes, not letting me look anywhere else.

"Keep working on it then. Oh, and, never touch my waist or I knee you in the warbles, got it?" I asked smiling sweetly; really... I was just trying to avoid this whole subject of 'love'.

"You are impossible." Jacob said rolling his eyes with an exasperated expression on his face.
