Selfish

I love you now and forever...
In a selfish way I love you,
On a melancholic day I flew back,
To the day when you were mine,
To the world that seemed happy,
To the times I stayed in bliss.

Now that I am unhappy,
I need you back,
Not for the times we shared,
But for the bliss I miss,
Knowing that you'd never be back,
I cry out for none to hear,
For the inevitable days yet to come.

In a better world you'd be mine, I know,
In a better place I'd love you in an unselfish way, I hope,
While I am waiting for the so-called "better world",
Would it be alright if I love you now and forever?
