Take My Words Away

When every word is questioned, and silence prevails.
Who, why, what you ask of every written word,
Fear and anger take over me as I struggle to be heard,
Suppressing thoughts, hopes, and dreams, drowning them with fear,
I hide behind this tired smile and swallow all my tears.

Not long ago, I found my voice and laughed to share my soul,
Now darkness swallows all my joy into the deepest hole,
I do not know if what I write is worth the time I spend,
But hoping I can touch one heart is worth it in the end.

Crushing doubts and accusing shouts are all that I have heard,
I will struggle and fight, so you can't take away my words.
