The Battle Of Man

This is not meant to be offensive, but it is meant to be provocative. Perhaps debate on its content will enlighten some of the bigots at whom it's aimed.
The battle of man between good and evil,
Must be fought and won within his own mind,
For only he can make up the rules,
Of which he is willing to abide.

He must seek the strength within his heart,
To build a philosophy in which he can believe,
Only he has the right to choose his own path,
And only he can perceive his release.

Cast off the shackles of religious teachings,
The falsified ramblings of a pious priest,
For their words are lies that justify failure,
Of a God who broke his promise of peace.

From the ashes of Adam and Eve's original sin,
The body of the son of God lies broken,
To war we still go with God on our side,
Using the extreme tactics of unholy Satan.

Each man must choose which side he defends,
It matters not which as both are extreme,
Dishonest and false in their passion for glory,
Each side takes delight in the slaughter of men.

Religious leaders zealously rant,
Provocatively condoning in the name of love,
The genocide of their fellow mn,
Because his opinions differ from that of their God.

It was mortal man who created the Gods,
It was not a God who created him,
The battle of man between good and evil,
Must be fought and won within his own mind.
