The Change (Sleazy Deep In Blues)

A bit of a love lost saga as influenced by Bob Dylan...
Everything must change, every now and again,
That's what they tell me,
But nothing really changes, it all remains the same,
And so, God help me!

I'm in the same old rut, I'm in the same old groove,
Playing the same old song in the same old mood,
Low down, low key and sleazy deep in blues,
And still I wait patiently for the change.

It can't go on forever, it must come to an end,
Nothing is infinite,
It's just a phase you're going through, like a passing trend,
You will get over it.

But I'm still in the mire with mud inside my shoes,
Trying to drag myself forward with my mind stuck set on you,
Low down, low key, and sleazy deep in blues,
And still I wait patiently for the change.

Look out my window at the dawn, sun rising with a yawn,
It's just another day,
Blue skies, singing birds and flowers softly swaying,
This and that-a-way.

O.K. I'll admit to you, nature's beautiful, it's true,
But even it can't raise a smile when you've nothing left to lose...
Low down, low key, and sleazy deep in blues,
And still I wait patiently for the change.

Just a little conversation and a shoulder to cry on,
Is all that's needed,
But I don't feel like talking, need no sympathetic photon,
Nor morals pleaded.

So leave me be alone, in the quarantine I choose,
And maybe inspiration will come to me through muse,
For I'm low down, low key, and sleazy deep in blues,
But only my own reason can bring the change!
