The Long Cold Night

Hope you enjoy reading this
There are days when the sun refuses to shine,
That cold night when the stars are nowhere in sight.

When all that my eyes could see is a helpless moon,
A helpless moon struggling to register a statement.

The long night when thick darkness tried to envelope my heart,
And the shadows of my guilt cast itself upon my path.

In my deep helplessness I resolved to resort to your words.
And from the deep my heart reached out to you,
As the water to a thirsty Deer a soothe.

Your words to my path a light,
To my feet a lamp.

From a distance feeling so close,
Your words caressed my soul and I know sane.

Sane, even to the deep,
Your words made all the difference.
