The River

A simple poem to describe my journey towards someone...
Like a river I shine and glow,
In a direction towards you I flow,
Many stones do people throw,
To give my path a winding blow.

To change my course they try,
They judge, they dodge, they question, they pry,
They make me yell and they make me cry,
But cannot move my determination high.

"You'll lose yourself!" they say,
"I'll get a new identity" is the argument I lay,
It's the destination, not the journey I must see,
For the river must meet its sea.
