There Is No Girl As Beautiful As You - Chapter 1

Alexis Rouges (Alex) is a girl who is very different from everyone around her. She has a dirty secret that no one knows, well except her best childhood friend Aden. But he moved when they graduated middle school and hasn't seen him since. Now she is a Junior in high school and is about to get the surprise of her life. Pic is of Aden. Please comment!
Alex's POV

"Get up Alex!" My mom yells at me from her room. Ugh. I hate her.
"I said, get up!"
"I'm up, I'm up. You don't have to yell," I yell at my mom. I take a shower and put on black jeans, a white lace shirt, and my favorite black converse. I don't put any makeup on because I don't like it. I brush my black hair and put my glasses on. I wish I didn't have to, but I hate contact lens; they irritate my chocolate-brown eyes.

"I'm leaving mom!" I yell.
"Come to my room for a second. And hurry up!" She yells back.
As soon as I open her door, the stench of liquor and vomit overwhelm my nose. It takes a lot of self-control not to puke right then and there.

"Is that how you're going to school?" She says swaying a bit, "You look like a whore."
"You shouldn't be talking. You look like a drunken bitch, oh wait. You are," I say harshly. I regret it as soon as I say it, because she only takes two steps to close the distance. When she gets so close to me, I feel as if I'm a little girl again, crying in the corner wanting it to stop. She already has her favorite weapon: the radio cable. My mind automatically drowns out the next thing she says, my body stiffens and waits for the pain.

My arms and legs ache from the beating I got from my mother. Tears streaming down my face as I look at myself in the mirror. I wash my face, then change my shirt into a long-sleeved shirt and put my navy blue hoodie over it. I wish I didn't have to do this almost everyday. I'm just tired of my life. I don't think I can go on much longer.

At School

I look at my schedule and see that I have AP in all of them, except my elective Art with Mrs. Heaphy. I hope she's nice because she teaches my second favorite subject. Nothing could surpass Math, ever. I enter room 248 and I freeze.

Aden's POV

I see her familiar features when she enters the class. Her black hair and those hypnotizing brown eyes, which almost always have hint of red because she's forever crying. Her covered up body always keeping her secret. She freezes as soon as she sees me, and a blank look overcomes her face, like she's remembering something. Something that I know makes her cry inside; something that I can never forgive myself from doing.

I'm nervous when I can't find Aden anywhere. Where is he? It's our culmination and we made a speech that we were supposed to say together.

"Honey, just go out there alone. I don't think he even came," my eighth grade teacher, Mr. Mathews says.
"Ok. But give me sometime, I need to edit it," I say, not focusing on him, but keeping the tears forming in my eyes from showing.
"Yeah, sure. We'll have someone else up."
I can't believe this is happening. He's my best friend and I told him everything, and now he's gone. I look over the speech, cutting it almost in half. I nod to myself, wipe the tears that escaped away and go up on stage.
"I remember on the first day I was nervous..."

Alex's POV

I stand there like an idiot looking at him. Everything around me is oblivious as I look into his jade eyes. He looks the same, his brown hair covering his forehead, and covering his scars. I did tell him everything, he vanishes and takes some part of me with him. I blink back tears and sit in the only seat available, next to him.
