Willing to Trust Again - Chapter 15

Hope you guys like it! Sorry for the short chapter and late post. Been super busy in moving!!
The next day was a blur until lunch when Rhea dropped a bomb! All Rhea got was glares from her friends.
"What's wrong with you? You invited that cow to have lunch with us?" Kiran shouted.
"She invited herself." Rhea shouted too.
"There's a word called 'No' Rhea!" Amit, Karishma, and Kiran exclaimed in unison.
"C'mon guys, she was crying. She said she was sorry."
"Let's see how sorry she is." Karishma said, pure hatred laced in her voice.
They sat at their usual table. Soon Neha and Arjun arrived.

"Hey you guys." Neha squeaked.
"Hi," everybody dully replied. Rhea smiled.
"Hey Arjun," she said.
"Hi Ree! Long time," Arjun stepped forward and side-hugged her.
Amit glared at him. "Who are you?" He asked Arjun bluntly.
"Guys, this is Arjun. Arjun these are my friends. That's Karishma, Kiran, and Amit." Rhea said pointing at everybody.
"Hey girls! Nice to finally meet Rhea's friends." Arjun said, shaking Karishma and Kiran's hands.
"Hi Amit, Rhea talks a lot about you." Arjun and Amit stiffly shook hands.
Arjun soon mingled with everyone, specially Kiran. Both of them had the same nature. Nobody realized Neha was still there, glaring at everyone. Nobody paid attention. All of them were busy laughing and eating.

Soon the bell rang and everybody separated for their classes.
Rhea and Amit walked together. "Who's Arjun?" Amit asked.
"He's Neha's friend. We met during summer. He really likes Neha you know." Rhea said.
"Oh," he said.
They quietly walked to the class. Amit never uttered a word during the lectures. Rhea felt odd. Amit got up to leave as soon as the bell rang. Rhea followed him.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Nothing." Amit replied curtly.
"Fine! As you wish!" Rhea shouted and turned to leave.

Amit didn't stop her and left too. They didn't call or text each other. Both of them spent a sleepless night, but never called. Amit- because of his ego, Rhea- because of frustration. Rain pelted down outside their windows, bringing tears in Rhea's eyes. All she wanted to do was lay in her mother's lap and sleep peacefully. She decided to leave for her hometown the very next day.
