I feel it great when I contribute in sharing art. Let it be regional art or international art. Art is a way to live history.

Sculpting

Sculpture means differentiation.

There are two types of sculpture. One is sculpture in round and the other is sculpture in relief.

The one which is carving from four sides it is known as sculpture in round and that which one can not see any shape or carving of its back side it is known as the sculpture in relief.

I have seen three types of sculpture in relief. The sculpture, which has only outlines, or border shapes it, is define as low or bas-relief. While the other two are half relief and high relief, which carving in detail.

Generally sculpture can makes from wood, clay, metal, stone, and elephant teeth. I would like to say that sculpture could make according to the claimant of your place. Haddapiya culture's sculpture was made from clay. It was made from stucco and steatite.

Many years ago there was boom of wooden sculpture. People were used it for houses and temples. Such like as the statue of Sun in Multan, statue of lord Jagdish in Jaganathpuri.and Rannadevi's statue in the Mahalaxmi temple of Patan in India. Than comes the sculpture on the stone. Sculpture of cave. Mathura's red stone statues. Sculpture of basalt. Gujarat and Rajasthan's red and white stone and marble sculpture.

There two subjects of sculpture. Religious type of sculpture and non-religious sculpture. Baudh and Jain and Bramhan these three religious and other religious include old events, stories and Lord' sculptures. And toys, decoration things and statues are non-religious type of sculpture In Indian Sculpture.

Types

Sculpture in round are more than just forms which have four sides, all one has is a sum of four sides, simply four reliefs. There should be a progression from one form to another, which creates visual and structural strength. Sculptures of great strength and evocation with definite physical and visual power.

Relief sculpture is perhaps one of the first developments from the drawn line or mark on a flat surface; examples of man's incised drawings indicate this fact. The background in this kind of relief may be as much as half the volume of the form but made without undercuts, the breaking up of the light across the surface into strongly patterned areas is an essential part of the bas-relief.

Material Used

Materials for sculpture to just stone, bronze, clay and durable, wood. These were the most lasting materials. Now cements, polyester resins, plastics of many kinds, and new metal. Stone, wood and clay are all natural materials available in most parts of the world and it require little. It is based on geographical patterns of the earth and most of the varieties may be used in some way. Metal can be range in kind and quality and resistance from the noble metal.

Sculpture can be made from any metal but commonly used are bronze, brass, aluminum and lead. Plaster of Paris with clay is the most widely used in sculpture. But you can use it only as an intermediary material or for interior decoration. Cements are used as a sculptor's medium and form the basic material for a number of things such as concrete and cast stone. Max may be used as a final medium and the completed sculpture thought has to be out under glass.
